Are Iron Man and Captain America Making a Comeback in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?

Marvel fans have been in a state of mourning ever since the beloved Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr, made his ultimate sacrifice in the final battle of Avengers: Endgame. The emotional scene saw Tony Stark give up his life to defeat the villainous Thanos and save the world. Since then, fans have been speculating about whether we will ever see the character again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Unfortunately, Marvel Executive Vice President Victoria Alonso confirmed in an interview with Clarin that Iron Man is off the table, indicating that Robert Downey Jr will not be returning to reprise his iconic role. This news came as a blow to fans who had hoped to see the character return in some form, perhaps through a multiversal storyline.

However, Mark Ruffalo, who plays Bruce Banner/Hulk in the MCU, recently gave fans a glimmer of hope during a panel at the Emerald City Comic-Con. In the “Mean and Green: Mark Ruffalo Spotlight” panel, Ruffalo was asked about the possibility of seeing the OG Avengers return in future MCU projects, to which he gave a cryptic response.

Nevertheless, the idea of seeing the OG Avengers back together again is certainly an exciting prospect for Marvel fans. Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow, and Hawkeye were the original team that brought the MCU to life, and their chemistry and camaraderie made them fan favorites. It would be a fitting tribute to the characters and the actors who brought them to life to see them reunited on the big screen once again.
