Priyanka Chopra opens up about losing roles after botched nose surgery

Priyanka Chopra, the renowned Indian actor, and global icon, has recently opened up about a botched nose surgery that left her depressed and even made her think that her acting career was over before it even started. In this article, we will take a closer look at the details of the incident, the impact it had on Priyanka’s life and career, and how she overcame it with the help of her late father and supportive colleagues in the film industry.

The botched nose surgery and its aftermath

Speaking on the Howard Stern Show, Priyanka Chopra revealed that the botched nose surgery was a traumatic experience for her that drove her into a deep depression. “This thing happens, and my face looks completely different, and I went into a deep, deep depression,” she said. The surgery was so disastrous that she was fired from three different movies soon after, and she felt like her career was over before it had even begun.

The road to recovery

Despite being hesitant to go under the knife again, Priyanka’s late father, Ashok Chopra, encouraged her to get corrective surgery. “I was terrified of that, but he was like, ‘I will be in the room with you,'” she confessed. “He held my hands through it and helped me build back my confidence.”

Priyanka also credited Bollywood director Anil Sharma for giving her work and helping her rebuild her career, despite the setback. She said, “That director (Anil Sharma) was really gracious… Even though the odds were stacked against me, he encouraged me to give it everything I had. I did, too. The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, directed by Anil, was Priyanka’s debut Hindi film.

Priyanka’s recent projects and future plans

Despite the setback, Priyanka has bounced back and continues to be one of the most sought-after actors in Bollywood and Hollywood. She recently starred in ‘Citadel’, an action-packed show created by The Russo Brothers, and is set to star in Farhan Akhtar’s directorial ‘Jee Le Zaraa’ alongside Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif.

Speaking about ‘Citadel’, Priyanka said, The story and the feats are intricately entwined. The fact that these massive action films incorporate drama and compelling storyline is what makes them so fascinating. There is drama at the core of each of these individuals that we get to see a lot of in addition to the fantastic action sequences, so there is a narrative thread that runs through all the stunts. And that was simply really interesting and new to me.
