Australia cricketer Glenn Maxwell recently sported an Indian look during his Indian-style engagement to his long-time girlfriend Vini Raman in Melbourne. In February, Maxwell had announced his engagement with Vini Raman. Maxwell and Vini had shared pictures on their respective Instagram accounts to announce the big news to their fans with Vini writing, “Last week my favourite person asked me to marry him.”
Vini Raman, on Sunday, posted a picture from their engagement on her Instagram handle and in the caption “Last night we celebrated our Indian engagement and I gave @gmaxi_32 a little teaser of what the wedding will be like. Shout out to both of our incredible families & all our friends who came to celebrate with us on such short notice – we are so grateful to be surrounded by some pretty amazing people.”
In fact, Maxwell had once revealed that it was Raman who advised him to seek help from a mental health professional.
“I think I was pretty cooked. I decided to take some time off and a big reason as to why I took that time away was because I was mentally and physically ruined from I think it was eight months on the road and living out of a suitcase,” Maxwell said after taking a break from cricketing activities to deal with his mental health issues.
“It was actually my partner who suggested I speak to someone, she was the first person who noticed it. Once I had that initial conversation it was a huge weight off my shoulders.”
Maxwell, who was bought by Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 auction, is off duty like every other cricketer amid the pandemic coronavirus threat all across the globe. He could be seen playing for KXIP in the IPL season 13 but it all depends upon how the COVID-19 situation develops.
